A classic natural repellent with 15 years of experience, specially developed to protect against horseflies. It provides long-lasting protection against other nuisance insects, such as ticks, mosquitoes and biting flies. A repellent for horses and riders with a broad-spectrum blend of active ingredients. It is also effective against Culex mosquitoes and Hyalomma ticks.

It cares for the skin thanks to moisturising ingredients such as aloe vera, sesame oil, avocado oil and walnut oil. Bremsen Bremse has been allergy and dermatologically tested and can also be applied to open wounds and sensitive areas such as the nostrils and other soft tissues.

A highly successful repellent popular among horse owners, especially in Germany, now available as a new product on the Slovak market.

Effective against both tropical and local insects and ticks.

The product does not contain any substances prohibited under the FEI 2021 anti-doping regulations.

Horseguard BREMSENBREMSE® repellent provides reliable, long-lasting protection against tropical and common local insect species, such as mosquitoes (including the Culex species commonly found in our region, which can transmit West Nile virus) and ticks. The active ingredient Icaridin is also recommended by the WHO for repelling mosquitoes in tropical regions and is effective at repelling insects for up to 8 hours at the concentration used in this product.

Horseguard Bremsen Bremse® repellent, with a combination of the active ingredient Icaridin and essential oils obtained from the leaves of Eucalyptus citriodora, is effective against common Culex pipiens mosquitoes for up to 8 hours, depending on the application, according to field studies conducted directly on horses using the TNsG methodology applicable to mosquitoes and ticks. According to this study, the repellent demonstrated full effectiveness against Hyalomma marginatum ticks.

Horseguard Bremsen Bremse® repellent has been specially formulated to be effective against biting insects while remaining gentle on clothing fabrics and other materials. It is dermatologically tested, has a pleasant lemongrass fragrance and does not stain. It is also highly suitable for horses prone to sweet itch.

Directions for use: Shake well before use. Apply evenly to the coat and areas of exposed skin. Use a cloth or sponge to gently apply the product around the eyes and nose.

Apply in the following quantities: ponies 20–50 ml, horses 60–120 ml (3 sprays per area approximately the size of an A3 sheet).

For improved protection against ticks, spray a 5 cm wide band all around the leg at knee-joint height. Apply a similar band between the muzzle and eyes. This creates a barrier against crawling ticks. Reapply to sweaty areas after heavy sweating. Horses sensitive to insect bites and horses prone to sweet itch should be protected with a suitable fly rug and fly mask. Apply the repellent to uncovered areas.

Composition: Active ingredients 200 g/kg (Saltidin) sec-butyl 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate and essential oil of Eucalyptus citriodora.

This product is subject to an approval process upon import, overseen by the relevant ministries of agriculture and health.
